Lisa Swickard is an award-winning author, journalist and historian who grew up in Seneca County, Ohio. As the owner of Virgin Alley Press, her passion for local history has led to 10 books about Tiffin and Ohio history. Three years ago she created the Haunted Tiffin Ghost Walk with a team of paranormal experts and psychics (hauntedtiffin.com). The Epic Tiffin Excursions are daytime history tours for those who don't wish to experience paranormal activity. Specializing in little-known history, Swickard believes those who came before us deserve to be remembered.
Swickard began her career as a feature writer/investigative journalist at the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune. Fourteen years later she started the popular ZIG ZAG Magazine with writing partner Tricia Valentine. The duo co-authored a number of books before Swickard struck out on her own with the award-winning book Calamity and Courage: Tiffin's Battle During Ohio's Deadly 1913 Flood.
